Marriage and boredom

I am beginning to believe that marriage is some sort of cultural expectation that we all fall victim to. I got married because it was what my family expected me to do and what all my friends started doing when they reached their mid-twenties. So, against my better judgement, I jumped on board. But now that I have been married for awhile, the life has gone out of not just me, but my husband as well. I am bored out of my mind, and I have no doubt he is too. If I do decide to divorce, I don't think I will ever get married again. In my opinion, marriage is a social construct designed to keep people in line, much like religion.  The next trap would be to have children. Don't get me wrong, I like kids, but I can see where having them would completely eliminate any freedom of chaoice I may still have. I'm sure I sound cynical, but I bet there are alot of us out there that feel the same way.
